The Web can be understood as a "social machine" that includes an underlying technology, but also has rules, strategies and organizational structures that are built on the technology.

EcoWeb is a Project situated in the research context of the Challenge #4 of the Brazilian Computer Society: Participative and universal access of Brazilian citizens to knowledge, directed to the development and research that propose the construction of inclusive social systems.

This project proposes a systemic approach to the design of interaction in the Web that we are naming EcoWeb, and aims to build a conceptual framework that instrumentalizes those involved with the design and development of such systems to produce solutions that effectively meet users' requirements, taking into account their differences, needs, preferences, limitations, values and other cultural aspects.

Project's conceptual and methodological bases: Organizational Semiotics, including Web-pragmatic aspects and human and technological values.

Expected results: the clarification of research questions in terms of its technical challenges and solutions to guide and support the design, development and evaluation of inclusive social systems on the Web.
